The SBGAS Newsletter
The Sabine Baring-Gould Appreciation Society Newsletter was started by the founder of the society, David Shacklock in 1989. Over the years it has carried a number of short but interesting original articles by people who knew Sabine Baring-Gould or had special knowledge of him. It also contains a number of reprints of articles published in the past and some useful information about other publications by or about Baring-Gould. It is worth giving a 'health warning' that some of the articles may contain information that we now know to be untrue.
Newsletter Index
This is the index for the Newsletters which are in the process of being copied to the site. I am scanning the articles and then converting them to PDF files, since this is a reliable way of overcoming the difficulties of formatting that can arise. I have divided the Index into years to make it more manageable. To read an article select a year and then click on the title of the article. It will then open in Acrobat Reader or your default PDF file reader.
Please note: This set of pages is under construction. If no link is shown, then the article is not yet avaliable
To complete the whole set of newsletters is an exercise that is going to take some time so please be patient and regard this as work in progress. I will not include 'Books for Sale/Wants', 'Membership Notes' or 'Bibliography' (the last because Roger has moved on so far with this and it is readily available). I have found it easiest, in practice, to start at the beginning and work forwards. If, however, you wish to see a particular item included, drop me an e-mail and I will try to push it up the queue.
